If you've been to the Venetian/Palazzo recently, you may have noticed something called the "Cocktail Collective." It's a trio of new lounges that offer handcrafted superior cocktails in lush, unique surroundings. The Dorsey, Rosina and Electra are each distinctive, and set new standards for a classy evening out.
As wonderful as fancy cocktail lounges are, sometimes you just want to head out for some live music, cheap liquor and rib-sticking grub. At times like this, it's best to travel off-Strip and hang out where the locals go. Of course, you'll want to employ the services of LYFT or UBER if you plan to imbibe, but the price of a ride is nothing compared to all you'll save.
The most popular locals hangouts come from PT’s Entertainment Group. This Vegas-born collection has names like PT's Gold, PT's Ranch, Sierra Gold and Sean Patrick's. There are over fifty PT taverns throughout the area. They're open 24 hours, have bar-top gaming, a player's club, William Hill Sports Betting and a mobile app. Many locations are for guests 21 and over.
PT's has excellent food, craft brews, signature cocktails and outrageous specials. From 6 a.m. through 10 a.m. every day, all breakfast entrees are half price. Happy Hour runs from 5 p.m. through 7 p.m., and midnight until 2 a.m. Food specials include Sriracha Chicken Bites ($6), half-pound Pub Burgers ($7) and four varieties of flatbread for only $8.
PT Taverns are a great place to enjoy sports. They're an official sponsor of the Golden Knights and host promotions during games. PT's also partners with LYFT to get you there and back safely. Be sure to sign up for their Beer and Bites Reward Program to earn discounts, free entrees and complimentary cocktails.
Another local chain of favorites goes by the name The Lodge. Rustic and inviting, The Lodge evokes the atmosphere of a mountain cabin. Restaurant areas are separate from the bar, which operates 24 hours and serves a full menu. Salads are huge, soups are homemade and sandwiches are hearty. Wednesdays offer a prime rib dinner for only $13.99. Happy Hour runs 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and midnight to 3 a.m. Video gaming, live entertainment and rewards programs add to the fun.
Rounders Grilling and Gaming has four locations in the area that are definitely worth seeking out. A little bit steakhouse and a whole lot of sports pub, Rounders has charm to spare. It also boasts one of the longest happy hours around: 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., and midnight through 2 a.m.
Rounders menu items are made from scratch, and include a delicious Colorado Chili Verde. It's their house green chili and lean pork served with tomatillos, Hatch green chilies, melted cheese and a tortilla. The Tommy Knocker burger piles a half pound of fresh-ground Angus, bacon, grilled onions and mushrooms under a layer of melted cheddar. Ribeye steaks are dry-aged, marinated in garlic, topped with butter and absolutely mouth-watering.
During Happy Hour, dig into a huge selection of half-price appetizers. Signature cocktails like the Cu-Cu-Tini (cucumber vodka with fresh lemon, basil-honey syrup and soda) will have you smiling in. Drink specials include $3.50 mules, whiskey sours and screwdrivers. If you're celebrating a touchdown or special event, indulge in a round of $5 Fireball shots.
Lucky’s Lounge and Restaurant calls itself a "rustic, provincial bar." They have only two locations (north and south), but what lacks in quantity is outdone with sheer gusto. Lucky's boasts "Best Happy Hour in Las Vegas" as chosen by readers of Las Vegas Weekly. Their "Get Your Grub On" slogan ensures you'll enjoy every bite of their burgers, salads, pizzas, wings and seafood.
Vegetarians get a special hug from Lucky's with Honey Sriracha Cauliflower Wings, Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Lemon Artichoke Heats and a Grilled Portobello Platter.
