If your New Year’s resolution this year was to create a personalized budget and develop healthy spending habits, you might be shaking in your boots at the thought of this trip you’re about to take to Las Vegas. However, not every vacation to Sin City requires you to empty your pockets. In fact, check out these tips to discover how to get the most bang for your buck.
Remember, it’s all about choices here.
Let us first mention the many free attractions we have in this city
The Fountains at the Bellagio, artwork inside the Aria, Volcano at the Mirage, the Flamingo Wildlife Habitat, Red Rock Canyon, Hoover Dam, Fremont Street, Circus Circus show at the Carnival Midway stage, tour the Ethel M Chocolate Factory, and browse plenty of art at City Center.
With the many free activities and attractions, you’ve already set yourself up to win, and that new budget plan of yours will be very thankful.
Where to stay
If you’re looking for a budget friendly place to stay, there are plenty of hotels off the strip. However, we understand wanting that on-the-strip vibe so a location on Las Vegas Boulevard would be ideal. Tropicana, Excalibur, New York New York, Circus Circus and even the MGM Grand offer great prices on rooms.
What to eat
For a budget-friendly, yet tasty, dining experience you must check out Tacos El Gordo and Javier’s for some great Mexican food. For affordable Italian, some must-try places are Evel Pie Downtown, Slice of Vegas and Flour & Barley. If pubs and burgers are more your scene, check out BeerHaus, Gordon Ramsay Burger and BLT. All very affordable and very delicious.
There are also a few all-you-can-eat options for buffet lovers on a budget. For less than $30, you can experience a very diverse menu suitable for all taste buds at Bayside Buffet at the Mandalay Bay and The Buffet at Excalibur.
Where to drink
Luckily, for the ladies, there are a few clubs that offer free drink tickets upon entry, especially when you sign up with a guest list. If you’re not willing to dish out $20 on a drink in a club, check out some of the bars that offer great Happy Hours and cheap-but-tasty drinks. If you’re staying on the strip, O’Sheas is a great place to start. Located near the LINQ hotel, you will find this Irish-themed bar with more than 50 beers to choose from. For frozen margaritas, check out Fat Tuesday that will keep the bill under $10. If you are planning on heading Downtown, Fremont is known for their many bars. Start at The Griffin and make your way down to Gold Spike for a night of drinks and fun games.
