Axe Monkeys is the newest and one of the most unique attractions in Las Vegas

If you’ve always wanted to try your hand at being a lumberjack, check out the new Axe Monkeys in Las Vegas.

The facility has nearly two dozen lanes worth of targets, all separated from each other by chainlink fences just in case your throwing goes awry. There are also three party rooms and a sound system.

Axe Monkeys has a state-of-the-art facility with various lanes for throwing

While axe throwing is fairly new in the U.S., it is common in Canada, Japan and other countries. And after a visit to Axe Monkeys, you’ll see why. The second you throw the sharp object against the target, you’ll want to do it again and again. It’s partly for the competition, but also because it’s just fun to do.

Beginners in axe throwing will start off with lessons in safety and technique. The axes used weigh about 1.5 pounds. More experienced throwers will be able to choose from a supply of knives, throwing stars, tactical tomahawks, shogun axes and other throwing implements.

Axe Monkeys will also be the newest spot to celebrate special events like bachelor and bachelorette parties, birthdays, family gatherings and, yes, even divorces. But don’t worry – there’s nothing vicious here. If you drink during the party, you won’t be able to throw.
