When you venture to Vegas, you probably don’t even imagine leaving the Strip. Why would you? Bright lights, endless fun, poolside cocktails and evening entertainment to take you into the wee hours of the morning. However, we’ve said it before but we’ll say it again: The Container Park (707 Fremont St.) in downtown Vegas is not to be missed, and one of the treasured spots that has popped up during the more recent surge of downtown Vegas.

Whether you’re traveling with your significant other, your best friend, a colleague or the entire family, this spot is the mecca for a relaxed afternoon or evening that will certainly show you another side of Vegas. We’ll circle you in and around the Container Park for a fun day through downtown Vegas before your evening show and late night casino activities. Be prepared to experience a more laid-back, Southern California vibe in downtown Vegas.

First things first! Head to Vesta Coffee Roasters (1114 S Casino Center Blvd.)  for your morning caffeine kick and breakfast. We recommend the slow drip coffee with a dash of almond milk (our favorite) and the chia overnight oats or the Vesta breakfast sandwich.

After breakfast, make your way to The Writer’s Block (1020 Fremont St.), a quaint bookstore nestled in the downtown streets where you can find a book for your trip home from the desert.

Stop in for an afternoon sweet treat at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory (200 Fremont St.), because chocolate is happiness. There are so many varieties of chocolate they offer that you will leave feeling like you went to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.

Round out the afternoon with a cold beer or cocktail inside the Container Park and catch one of their outdoor entertainers. Before heading to your evening show, snack on tacos and nachos from Pinches Tacos (707 Fremont St.). We recommend toasting with a margarita to turn up the fun before you head back to the strip.
