Even with school starting and summer vacations ending, Las Vegas is still going strong with entertainment this month. From concerts and comedians to Star Trek fandom, here is what’s happening in las Vegas this August:

Star Trek Convention
The Official Star Trek Convention has returned to Vegas at the Rio Suites Hotel now through August 4. This year’s convention will welcome several Star Trek celebrities including William Shatner, Kate Mulgrew, Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Anson Mount, Jason Isaacs and more.

Comedians
Jim Jeffries
One of the most outstanding and respected comedians of his generation, Jim Jeffries brings the laughs to the Mirage this August 2 and 3 .

Pete Davidson
Saturday Night Live star, Pete Davidson brings his jokes to the Mirage for a one-night only show you don’t want to miss August 25.

George Lopez
television, film, standup comedy and late-night television host George Lopez will round out the laughs in Vegas this August 30 and 31.

Concerts
Janet Jackson
Pop singer Janet Jackson continues her residency, Janet Jackson Metamorphosis at Park MGM this August. The singer will bring her greatest hits and life story August 3, 7, 9, 10, 14, 16 & 17.

Def Leppard
Def Leppard are heading to LAs Vegas  with their new Def Leppard Hits Vegas: The Sin City Residency this August and September. The band will take over Zappos Theater at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino beginning August 14.

Mary J Blige & NAS
Two of hip-hop and R&B’s biggest stars, Mary J. Blige and NAS are touring together with The Royalty Tour. The power duo will make a stop at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino August 16-17.

Lady Antebellum
Their first-ever Las Vegas residency is in full swing and this August 23 - August 31, listen as Lady Antebellum brings their chart-topping songs in an unparalleled production to the Pearl Theater at Palms Hotel & Casino.

George Strait
The King of Country returns to Vegas this August with special guest Ashley McBride. George Strait will wow audiences with his spectacular catalog of songs August 23 -24.

Cher
Oscar, Emmy, GRAMMY and Golden Globe Award-winning singer Cher returns to Vegas this August with her show Classic Cher at Park MGM. Catch the songstress and her greatest hits August 21, 23, 24, 28 & 31.
