As Vegas inches closer to summer the entertainment begins to heat up. This May celebrate everything from moms to electronic dance music, Cinco de Mayo, Memorial Day Weekend and more. Here’s what to do in Vegas this May:
Cinco de Mayo:
Contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day. It instead celebrates the Mexican army’s victory over France at the Battle Puebla in 1862. In Las Vegas it’s more like a victory over your Mexican cuisine and drink cravings, as local restaurants offer margaritas, tequila shots and more. Some of the top places to imbibe include The LINQ and it’s many establishments like O;Shea’s, Influence Pool and Chayo; Tequila Taquiera at Bally’s; Cabo Wabo and Yolos Mexican Grill at Planet Hollywood; Señor Frogs at Treasure Island and don’ this Rio’s Ultimate pub Crawl & Fiesta where you’ll visit iBar, VooDoo Beach and Guy Fierie’s El Burro Borracho.
Mom has fed you so many times it’s time to return the favor. This Mother’s Day treat mom to a special brunch at one of Las Vegas’ finest restaurants including:
The Kitchen at Atomic
Trevi at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace
Cleo at SLS
La Cave Wine & Food Hideaway at Wynn Las Vegas
And if you really want to show mom just how much you love her let her spend the day at one of Vegas’ award-winning spas like Spa at Bellagio, Qua Baths and Spa at Caesars Palace, The Spa at Wynn or Mandara Spa.
Electric Daisy Carnival:
The weather won’t be the only thing heating up this May. From May 17-19, the city will welcome the biggest electronic dance music festival in the country - the Electric Daisy Carnival. The three-day event takes place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and includes such artist as:
and many more
Memorial Day Weekend:
Memorial Day Weekend marks the unofficial kickoff to summer. The long weekend fans just after the world-famous Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), which means there are sure to be an overflow of EDM artists who stick around for the party.
